Parish Team

Fr Daniel Kelly

Fr Dan is nearly new to the Parish Team as he had been with us as a seminarian as part of his training for priesthood. He grew up in Southend and was ordained in his home parish of St Helen’s in Westcliff on 17th September 2011.

When Fr Dan isn’t in the parish he will more than likely be found in the cinema, as his hobby is film. He also loves reading and listening to music but he is never happier than when he is lost in a cinematic masterpiece.

Fr Paul Kerner

Fr Paul was born and grew up in Harlow. When he left school had various jobs as I didn't know what I wanted to do, worked in childcare, shops and eventually asked to join the religious community, Canons Regular of the Immaculate Conception. After a while he decided that the religious life was no longerfor him.

He returned to the UK and whilst discerning his vocation went to work at Stansted Airport as a customer service agent with Swissport for Ryanair (feet firmly on the ground).

After 3 years a priest friend in the diocese of Albenga-Imperia on the Ligurian coast in the north of Italy invited him over for a visit. Whilst there he met the Bishop and after various meetings over 2 years he accepted me him as a priest of his Diocese.

He was ordained on 18th June 2011 and has never looked back since. Now, to be closer to family, he has requested to enter the Diocese of Brentwood, his home diocese, and luckily for him is now serving in Basildon and hopes to be able to serve the wonderful people of Basildon well.

Sr Clare Kane, OSU

Sr Clare came to Basildon in 2003. She is a Brentwood Ursuline Sister with long experience as a teacher and headteacher, as well as many pastoral roles within the Ursuline Community, including time as its leader from 1993 - 2001. Sr Clare is originally from the North East, and was professed as a Religious Sister in 1967. She is very keen on inclusion and welcome, and especially on promoting the role of women in the Church.

Sarah White, Parish Administrator

Sarah grew up in Brentwood and moved to Langdon Hils/Basildon in 2006. Formerly an administrator at Mercer Ltd and at Basildon Hospital, Sarah became the Parish Secretary in Spring 2015. Sarah is married to Sam and, in her spare time, enjoys travel, country walks and going to the theatre.

Beth Warren, Parish Youth Co-ordinator

Beth joined the Parish Team in September 2015 as Parish Youth Coordinator and Chaplain to three of our schools – De la Salle, St. Teresa’s and St Anne Line Junior. Beth is also studying at St Mary’s University, Twickenham. Most of the activities for young people in our parish are organised by Beth, so if you want to get involved, please get in touch!

Completing the team are the Parish Pastoral Assistants and NET Team Leaders.
