Carpe Diem

The Carpe Diem Club started in June 2007 and is an Over 55’s Social Club that meets on the First Wednesday of each month at Holy Trinity Church Hall at 1.30pm. We now have well over 100 members.

Carpe Diem is Latin for “Seize the Day” and we certainly do that. The meetings are fun with music and dancing, a raffle and refreshments, we have Bring & Buys, quizzes and a yearly Auction which raises funds for our chosen charity, Admiral Nurses, who care specifically for dementia patients.

There are usually two holidays a year, a Spring break and a December ‘Turkey and Tinsel’ break with the cost much less than the brochure prices. Coach day trips are also arranged and these are also at a very reasonable price.

Yearly membership is £10 and renewals are paid in June. Entrance at each meeting is £2 for members, which includes refreshments. A Raffle is also held (tickets are £1) with prizes made up of ticket sales.

For further information call Diane on 01268 554784 or Mary on 01268 284825 or come along. You will be made very welcome - just “Seize the Day”.
